Remembering Fred N. Halverson

Remembering Fred N. Halverson
January 04, 2021

As the year 2020 neared its close, those of us at Halverson Northwest were saddened by the loss of Fred N. Halverson, longtime attorney and friend to many in the Yakima community. Fred began his legal career working with the Yakima County Prosecutor’s Office for two years after receiving his BA from the University of Washington and his JD from Gonzaga University. At that point Fred joined Halverson, Applegate, and McDonald, the law firm started in 1945 by his father, C.W. Halverson. Changing and growing over 75 years the firm continues today as part of the Halverson Northwest Law Group. After practicing law for 58 years and rarely missing a day of work, Fred retired in December 2019. Fred is survived by his wife Marie; their four children, Craig, Korynne, Kristin, and Kathryne; and their families. We miss our friend and colleague, and yet his legacy lives on through his work and the example he set.
