Carter "Skip" Fjeld Retires After 45 Years of Law

September 22, 2025
Though the name on the building has changed, Carter “Skip” Fjeld brings his 45 years of working with the same law firm to a close here in 2025. He didn’t start out in law, though. After graduating from Arizona State University, Mr. Fjeld spent 3 years in the United States Army, then 4 years in banking, and received an MSBA from Boston University prior to enrolling at Gonzaga University School of Law. He performed his responsibilities both as a soldier and as a banker faithfully and well.
His constancy and capability continued to be proven as legal counsel for his clients during his ensuing life as a lawyer. He started his legal career with Velikanje, Moore and Shore as a generalist, initially practicing personal injury law, property law, criminal law, family law, commercial law, tax law and banking law. However, for the last 30 years he limited his practice to civil commercial law. Mr. Fjeld has appeared with success in State District Court, Superior Court, Court of Appeals, Washington State Supreme Court and Federal District Court.
Skip has expressed how deeply he will miss his long-time relationships with his clients and professional friends, and that he has happily spent the last 45 years doing his best at what he was meant to be, a lawyer. He wishes to thank his wife Linda and daughters, all of his former legal partners, support staff and clients for his amazingly happy and satisfying career.
We at Halverson Northwest Law Group greatly appreciated working with Carter Fjeld. He is a man of uncommon diligence, thoughtfulness, and generosity. We wish him many more treasured times with family and friends in the years ahead.
